BREAKING: RANDY BLYTHE DENIED BAIL YET AGAIN
OH FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY.
Randy Blythe has been in a Czech prison for a month now — but his attorneys thought he’d finally be allowed to go free this week. Alas, no such luck: according to The Gauntlet, “the prosecutor has challenged Randy Blythe’s newly paid bail of $400,000 USD” — meaning Blythe will remain in jail for now.
The Gauntlet also gives you some idea of what to expect next:
“What happens now is that on Friday (July 27, 2012), the prosecutor will submit to the judge a reason for the bail denial. At that point, the judge has five days to rule, and another five days for it to be written or published to the court. The judges ruling at this point will be final and unless charges are formally filed, Randy will be free to leave the Czech Republic without condition on bail.”
So, Randy may or may not be free to leave sometime between this Friday and the first week of August? UGH!
Metal Injection also points out that Lamb of God’s upcoming tour with Dethklok and Gojira is scheduled to kick off on August 1. There have already been rumors of a cancellation this week; at this point, it seems to me that it would take a minor miracle for the tour to move forward.
