“EFFIGIES OF EVIL”: NEW HOODED MENACE SONG ABSOLUTELY CRUSHES
If you’re in the mood for a really evil-sounding, heavy song that is basically just one prolonged elephants marching riff — and I don’t know any reason you would ever not be in the mood for such a song — than boy oh boy, does Noisecreep ever have a treat for you: the title track from Hooded Menace’s forthcoming third release, Effigies of Evil.
This is the kind of song that I want to play as my theme music if I ever make the transition into professional wrestling. (I don’t know why I’d ever make such a transition. I’m just saying, y’know, if.) Never mind the bellowing vocals — the riff itself just screams “POWER.” Not the kind of power you admire, either — the kind of power you fear. Like, Machiavelli shit. Awesome, awesome stuff.
And as a bonus, the album art (above), by David D’Andrea, is freakin’ awesome.
Headbang very slowly here. Effigies of Evil is out on September 11 via Relpase.
