OHAI NEW CORONER DVD
One of metal’s greatest delights lately is the 2011 return of Swiss art-thrashers Coroner. Old fans must be gratified by the surprising, persistent buzz around their ever-expanding concert itinerary; new fans must be cursing the heavens for coming so close to having missed out on insanely tight concert action from a daring, heedless studio band. So it’s a winner!
Now, it’s a bummer that drummer Marky Edelmann has stated it won’t be possible for Coroner to record new stuff. But I’m pretty sure he once said that this reunion wouldn’t happen, so pardon me but in your fucking face Edelmann!
Ahem. But it’ll be an easy wait for new Coroner jamz, cuz coming soon-ish is a career retrospective two-disc DVD that will contain archive stuff and a full reunion set. Its teaser (above) doesn’t show much, but it confirms the most important part: The 2DVD exists. And will be for sale. To you. Yay life!
No release date is set, so let’s get pumped for its certain awesomeness with a few hundred views of Coroner’s long out-of-print live VHS of a 1990 set in East Berlin (below), yours for the drooling/staring via the miracle of the internet!
