BLOODSOURCING BLACK METAL – WANNA HELP MAKE A MOVIE?
Ever wanted to make a movie? How about a movie about metal? And murder?
Well, now you can!
Austin filmmaker Kat Candler, whom I interviewed here this past March about her Sundance Film Festival-accepted short film, Hellion, is gearing up to shoot her next short film entitled Black Metal and she needs your help.
Check out Kat’s Indiegogo crowdsourcing page for more information on how you can contribute money to help her complete the film. There are all sorts of cool incentives based on how much you are willing to shell out of your pockets, ranging from band stickers and t-shirts to DVDs to an Executive Producer credit on the film.
Here is Kat’s description of the film:
When a teen murders his math teacher in the name of a black metal band, the mid 30s lead singer will have to re-evaluate the two things he loves most, his music and his family. Black Metal, a dark drama, follows Ian, a husband, father and musician struggling with the guilt and blame of a tragic and senseless murder.
I am also happy to tell you that Kat hired me to act as her metal consultant for the film, as well as her true crime “expert.” We’ve already interviewed several metal bands for the role of the fictional band in the film and have chosen the Austin-based symphonic extreme metal band, Vesperian Sorrow.
Please donate so we can be assured that there will be quality, non-stereotypical films about heavy metal out in the world.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for information on how you can become an extra in Black Metal!!
