KATAKLYSM PAT THEMSELVES ON THE BACK FOR THEIR “IRON WILL”
The summer of 2012 is going to be huge for Kataklysm and Kataklysm’s fans alike. To celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band, they’ve got two big events on the horizon: 1) The Iron Will Tour, sponsored by MetalSucks, also featuring Origin, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Vital Remains and Rose Funeral, and 2) the release of a live/retrospective 2-CD/2-DVD set The Iron Will: 20 Years Determined, out July 3rd through Nuclear Blast. Fun times all around.
Both the tour and CD/DVD release take their name from a new song Kataklysm wrote just for the occasion called, duh, “Iron Will.” As is so often the case these days, they’ve released a lyric video for it, which you can watch above. Lest you think the lyrical nature of this song is a manifestation of gloating, consider this: how bands have been together for 20 years? And how many bands that actually have been together that long haven’t started to suck at some point along the way? Kataklysm’s feat is pretty impressive and they deserve to congratulate themselves, IMO!
