MORE GUEST SOLOISTS ANNOUNCED FOR NEW PERIPHERY ALBUM
Following the “leak” of a magazine ad announcing both the release date for Periphery’s heavily-anticipated new album (that would be July 3) and that the album features a guest solo by Dream Theater’s John Petrucci, today Guitar World released a new interview with guitarist Mark Holcomb, who revealed some other guest soloists that will appear on the release:
“We also managed to get not one, but three of our favorite guitarists to do guest solos on the record. Wes Hauch (The Faceless), Guthrie Govan (The Aristocrats) and John Petrucci (Dream Theater) all laid down guest solos on the album and they turned out incredible.”
I’ve seen Hauch (pictured above) play with The Faceless recently, but I’m honestly not familiar with Govan or The Aristocrats. Still, gotta figure if the dude was invited to play on a Periphery album, he knows his shit.
Periphery will be a part of this year’s Summer Slaughter tour, along with Cannibal Corpse, Between the Buried and Me, The Faceless, Veil of Maya, Job for a Cowboy, Goatwhore, Exhumed, and Cerebral Bore; get dates here.
