METAL INJECTION CONCLUDES THEIR “ON THE RECORD” SERIES BY PONDERING THE FUTURE OF METAL
For their epic “On the Record” series, Metal Injection has thus far explored the topics of reunions, subgenres, how the internet has changed metal, and women in metal; now, for the season finale, they’re looking to the future, wondering what’s gonna be next for extreme music. As in prior episodes, the Injectioners rounded up a wide range of metallic experts to weigh in on the subject, including musicians (Anders Bjorler from At the Gates and The Haunted, Michael Amott from Carcass and Arch Enemy, GWAR’s Oderus Urungus, Dying Fetus’ John Gallagher, God Forbid’s Doc Coyle, and The Red Chord’s Guy Kozowyk), industry folks (reps from pretty much all the biggest metal labels), and media peeps (Decibel‘s Albert Mudrian, Revolver‘s Brandon Geist, Sirius XM’s Jose Mangin, Vince and myself, etc.). Check it out:
Some of these interviews (like ours) were actually filmed quite some time ago, and we’re already starting to see some major changes in the metal world (and Rob from Metal Injection just pointed out to me that I actually successfully predicted the Oceano reunion in this video… albeit I thought we had a few more years to go!). So what do you think the future holds for the music we love? Chime in in the comments section below!
