VIDEO OF THE DAY: SOILWORK LIVE AT OZZFEST 2005
Axl and I were at this show, and let me tell you, it was fucking HOT!! The thermometer hit 95 degrees that day (that’s 35 Celsius for our European readers) and every one of those 95 degrees was packed completely full with every ounce of humidity that mother nature could muster. The weather was miserable, punishing, and brutal; in other words perfectly fitting for an entire day of heavy metal. Soilwork took the stage at noon or so, and holy fuck were they tight. It was our first time seeing them live after having just gotten into Stabbing the Drama, and the Helsingborg, Sweden-based five piece (then with Peter Wichers still in the band) brought their A-Game. Look at the level of energy in the crowd, and just imagine sustaining this through Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Rob Zombie, In Flames, Shadows Fall, Iron Maiden… yeah, it was a long day.
