COREY TAYLOR ANNOUNCES U.S. SUMMER SLIPKNOT TOUR, SAYS “THERE WILL BE ANOTHER SLIPKNOT ALBUM”

In case both my headline and the above video are somehow confusing to you: yes, during this past Saturday night’s stop on his current solo tour, Corey Taylor did indeed reveal that Slipknot will be touring the U.S. this summer, and he did say that “there will be another Slipknot album,” although “we’ve still got a couple of years before” said album gets made.
Since Taylor already revealed via Twitter this past August that Slipknot would be doing a U.S. tour in the not-so-distant future, the tour announcement is mostly news because it gives us a more concrete time frame.
But Taylor confirming that the ‘Knot will record a new album sooner or later is much bigger news, since he and Joey Jordison have been contradicting one another in the press ever since the tragic passing of bassist Paul Gray last year; Taylor expressed doubts about Slipknot’s ability to make a new record without Gray, while Jordison insisted that Slipknot would soldier on with or without Taylor. In fact, Taylor said that “there are no solid plans to do a Slipknot album” just last week — so even if we don’t know when that album will be made, at least now we know that Taylor is on board.
