FASTER PUSSYCAT ARE THE NEW L.A. GUNS

As Axl Rosenberg reported last week, FASTER PUSSYCAT have joined fellow ’80s rockers L.A. GUNS as having the dubious distinction of having two simultaneously touring incarnations of the same namesake. One version of Faster Pussycat features lead singer Taime Down and guitarist Greg Steele, and another features the other three original members Brent Muscat, Eric Stacy, and Brett Bradshaw. Brent Muscat has issued an open letter to Taime Down and Greg Steele, which begins as follows:

I have sent both of you email and messages through myspace inviting you both to join original members Eric Stacy, Brett Bradshaw and myself as Faster Pussycat to do a 20th-anivesary [sic] tour one last time. I have not received a response from either of you so I will ask you both to consider joining us. Will you?? You have an open invitation to join with us.

Can the ’80s glam band lunacy reach new heights? Will one version of Faster Pussycat re-record old songs so they can license the new masters to film and TV? Will Taime Down join Tracii Guns and form Faster Guns? Will up be down?
