METAL 4 FOSTER CHILDREN
Allow me to get real cereal for a moment. There are hundreds of thousands of foster kids in the U.S. whose lives have been disrupted by irresponsible parents. Wouldn’t it be great to be be able to donate to an organization that specializes in providing foster children a sense of normalcy by funding, among many other things, individual wishes for music lessons? And potentially altering a few lives for the better with the power of metal?
Rise Above is an organization that does just that, and through a partnership with New England Metal and Hardcore fest, Rise Above will be raising funds to help provide foster children in Massachusetts with the funds to do things kids do, like play little league and take music lessons. NEMHF has generously donated tickets to this year’s festival April 14th-16th in Worcester, MA for area foster children; that is beyond awesome. If just one kid is swayed by the magic of metal, it’ll all be worth it. More info after the jump.
WORCESTER, MA – Rise Above Foundation is collaborating with the New England Metal and Hardcore
Festival (NEMHF) in Worcester next month in their efforts to provide Massachusetts children in foster
care with enriching activities, opportunities, and experiences.
The Central Mass.-based nonprofit Rise Above has partnered with NEMHF to offer opportunities to share with festival goers more about the organization and to build community support. Rise Above’s presence on festival promotions and at the festival itself, slated for April 14-16 at the Palladium, will also be a chance for Rise Above to raise awareness and funds through exclusive merchandise available at the event.
“There are almost 10,000 kids in foster care here in Massachusetts. We want to inspire them to look beyond their current situation and allow them to put their worries aside and enjoy life as a kid,” says Rise Above co-founder Wade Sulzman. “Our partnership with NEMHF is valuable way for us to get the word out about what Rise Above is all about.”
In addition, NEMHF has generously donated tickets to the festival for area foster children. For more information about tickets for foster children to NEMHC, please visit Rise Above’s website at www.weriseabove.org.
