Experience Couch Slut’s Frenetic Show with ‘Live at Roadburn 2024 the Couch Slut Brunch Hour’

They may have come up in the concrete jungle of New York City, but the folks in Couch Slut have always cut their teeth on stages all over the place. For the last decade, they’ve played shows all over North America and Europe and played with some big names along the way. To highlight their frenetic and chaotic live show, they’re releasing a physical version of Live at Roadburn 2024 the Couch Slut Brunch Hour, a live album available now on streaming that highlights a very special night in their career.

According to the band, the story behind their upcoming live record starts with their very selection to play last year’s Roadburn Festival. It was their first international gig, so receiving the invitation was a big deal. After playing a secret show at a Dutch skate park, they headed over to Roadburn and the rest is history.

Speaking of the live album and the night Couch Slut played, Roadburn Fest’s Becky Laverty said this new offering highlights exactly why the band was invited in the first place.

“To capture the very specific energy of Couch Slut live is akin to capturing lightning in a bottle. This record comes as close as is possible… without the risk of slipping on spilled blood or being hit by a stray piece of flying croissant. We are honoured to have been the hosts for Couch Slut’s first ever foray into Europe and delighted that the set was captured here so that it can live on, beyond our memories.”

Having released their album You Could Do It Tonight that very evening, the band played it in its entirety at Roadburn. The set also featured a guest appearance by Imperial Triumphant’s Steve Blanco, who also added graphic visuals to the performance depicting “scenes of grotesque sex acts, self-mutilation, and rampant hedonism,” adding to the set’s overall shock value.
