Motörhead Day Announced at Rainbow Bar & Grill Set for May 8

0

In just a few days, it will be the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest bands to ever grace the planet — Motörhead. Even though they’re no longer a thing following the death of frontman Lemmy Kilmister, people are still paying tribute to perhaps the last great rock icon of all time with shrines and statues and the like.

With that major milestone approaching next week, the folks at Lemmy’s favorite haunt, the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, California, are going to host a special 50th anniversary event and you’re invited. Set to take place on May 8 from 6 p.m. until close, the iconic location will feature a special merch pop-up, free giveaways, and a special performance by Murder One, a Motörhead cover band that’ll play all the classics.

There will also be free Motörhead flash tattoos at The Estate Tatooo from 4 to 7 p.m., so you can get yourself some fresh ink before heading over to the Rainbow.

If you’re not able to get out to West Hollywood next week, you can always check Motörhead’s social media accounts for posts about other bars around the world that’ll be participating in the special occasion. Because if there’s one thing Lemmy would have wanted on Motörhead’s 50th anniversary, it would be seeing friends and followers of the band hanging out, listening to loud music, and raising hell with a drink in hand.
