Dave Grohl Joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra for a Guest Performance at Coachella

Looks like this weekend was full of surprises… New videos have surfaced of Foo Fighters legend and ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl joining the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra on stage at Coachella for a guest performance alongside conductor Gustavo Dudamel.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra took to the Outdoor Theatre stage on Saturday, April 19. After playing a phenomenal classical set, the choir was joined by Grohl for a special rendition of one of Foo Fighters’ classic, “Everlong,” alongside “The Sky Is The Neighbourhood.”

The performance is the first time Grohl has played Foo Fighters music live since August 2024. Though earlier this year, the musician joined remaining Nirvana members for a surprise appearance at the Los Angeles FirstAid charity show, following the devastating fires that took dozens of lives in California earlier this year.

In the tail end of 2024, surprising news surfaced that Grohl had an affair and was reportedly having a child outside of wedlock. Since this scandal, Grohl has shared that he’s focusing on family life. He wrote on Instagram:

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration towards all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

While there are currently no upcoming live shows locked in for Foo Fighters just yet, fans can read Grohl’s brand-new book, The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music, now.
