Sh*t That Comes Out Today: April 18, 2025
It’s a bit of a light week in terms of new releases, but this weekend’s about to be a good one. If you celebrate, happy Easter and Passover. For my fellow wrestling fans, you know I’ll be watching WrestleMania 41 along with you. And my fellow stoners, I will be blasting off into outer space along with you this Sunday for 4/20.
Basically, let’s all chill out and have a kick ass weekend. Here’s the new releases:

Dormant Ordeal
Tooth And Nail (Willowtip Records)
The blackened death metal duo from Kraków, Poland is back with their fourth studio album and their first on Willowtip Records. These guys wear their black metal tendencies on their sleeve while still pushing forth a killer death metal sound. There’s no extra frills here — just raw, unadulterated power.

Gama Bomb
Necronomicon Automaton (Prosthetic Records)
As friends of the website and dudes consistently on the right side of history, we love ourselves some Gama Bomb. These Irish mad lads continue to carry the thrash metal torch with this blisteringly fast four track EP. Seriously, at just under thirteen and a half minutes in runtime, I suggest you pop this on whenever you need a highly concentrated burst of kinetic energy. COME TO PHILADELPHIA, GUYS!

Melvins
Thunderball (Ipecac Recordings)
This isn’t your typical Melvins release. Featuring Buzz Osbourne and original drummer Mike Dillard, this is considered Melvins 1983. As such, it’s an entirely different beast that separates itself from the rest of the Melvins’ catalog. It’s big, it’s wild, and decidedly different from everything else coming out today.

Tribunal
In Penitence And Ruin (20 Buck Spin)
Equal parts melancholic, doleful, and powerful, this new offering from Vancouver’s own Tribunal is as deep as it is heavy. Throw this one on if you want slow, thundering dirges that combine to tell a narrative of justice, punishment, and seeking absolution.

Wind Down
The Burning Past (Wormholedeath)
Serving as this progressive metal band’s debut full-length effort, The Burning Past tells a narrative that’s based heavily on Native American traditions and shamanic rituals. With big and booming soundscapes that tend to capture the emotion in each song, it’s worth checking out.
Other Shit That Comes Out Today:
Ancestor Of Kaos, Animal Ritual (Horror Pain Gore Death Productions)
Ancient Death, Ego Dissolution (Profound Lore)
Atrox Trauma, Where Death Haunts (Wormholedeath)
Crypts Of Despair, We Belong In The Grave (Transcending Obscurity Records)
Divide And Dissolve, Insatiable (Bella Union)
Empyrean Sanctum, Detachment From Reality (Empyrean Sanctum)
Face Yourself, Martyr (Sumerian Records)
Maestitia, Hate Of Sorrow (Via Nocturna)
Ryoji Shinomoto, Children Of Bushido (Napalm Records)
Superheaven, Superheaven (Blue Grape Music)
