Chimaira’s Launching Their Own Label, Announce Deluxe Reissue of Their Self-Titled Album
There’s sure been a lot of attention being spent on the dudes in Chimaira as of late. Sure they’ve largely been a reunion act, playing shows here and there over the last few years, but this morning’s announcement is a major step that could mean big things for them in the future — they’re launching their own record label.
Officially named White Cobra Records, the band say they’re “taking charge of our destiny” with the move. The first thing on their docket as record label owners? Reissue their 2005 self-titled album in a special 20th anniversary edition. Completely remastered with vinyl in mind, the collection will include all b-sides, including their cover of the classic Metallica track off of Master of Puppets, “Disposable Heroes”.
Preorders for the reissue are up right now and will last for a month. Since they now own their own record label, the band say they will be the only place you can get your hands on this reissue — “no middlemen or detours.” Not only all that, but the band is also extending the reissue’s availability to the U.K. and Europe through their label in order to reduce shipping costs.
Now, whether the teaser from a couple days ago was for this or if there’s more coming down the pipe, I’m not entirely sure. There’s nothing in the announcement post that links it to that weird geometric symbol with all the dots, but I could be wrong on this one.
Either way, if you’d like to get your hands on the reissue, you can preorder your copy right now. If you’d like to catch Chimaira live this year, you can do that by checking out the list of dates below and getting your tickets today.
