Motörhead, CKY Featured in Newly Announced ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4’ Remaster
For many of us geriatric millennials, we were often exposed to killer music through other means — family members, TV shows, best friends, really cool weird dudes hanging out in the park trying to sell us pot. it was any port in a storm when there was no internet, really…
One of the major inflection points for metal and rock music for many of us, however, was video games. And none were more influential for many of us than the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Sure, there was a heavy punk influence, but bands like Rage Against The Machine, Papa Roach, Primus, and Suicidal Tendencies were prominently featured in the soundtracks of these games.
Earlier today, the folks behind 2020’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remasters announced that a remaster of the next two games in the series titled Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 was coming out on July 11 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net). And of course, the trailer featured none other than Motörhead’s iconic song “Ace of Spades.”
Given the nature of music licensing agreements and whatnot, the odds of all the songs originally found on both original games won’t be there. The only songs that we know will be in the remasters are as follows:
- “Amoeba” by Adolescents
- “Ace of Spades” by Motorhead
- “Mass Appeal” by Gang Starr
- “96 Quite Bitter Beings” by CKY
- “Not the Same” by Bodyjar
- “Outta Here” by KRS-One
