Fieldy Says He Hasn’t Spoken to His Korn Bandmates Since 2019
Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu has been a very integral part of Korn’s sound since 1993. As hard as it was to imagine a version of Korn without Fieldy, he’s officially been on hiatus with the band since 2021. The band has always called Fieldy’s absence a “hiatus,” and still bill his replacement, Ra Díaz, as a touring member and not a full member of the band. Yet, strangely, in a new interview, Fieldy claims to have not talked to any of the members of Korn since 2019, which is a bit confusing to those of us who understand how years work.
In a recent interview with Basement Talk podcast (that was transcribed by Blabbermouth), Fieldy was asked about his relationship with his bandmates in Korn and he gave an unexpected answer:
“I haven’t talked to those guys since 2019. So it’s like we’re just kind of both…. They’re truckin’. They’re a machine. They’re going. It’s insane. It’s dope that they can keep on going like that.”
When asked if things were still good between Fieldy and the rest of Korn, Fieldy responded:
“Yeah. It’s cool to see them keep on going. I’m, like, I need to chill. I’m just kickin’ it.”
As Blabbermouth points out, the problem with Fieldy’s statement is that he’s played with Korn as recently as 2021 for their “Korn: Monumental” streaming event. It was shortly after that that he announced his hiatus saying that he had fallen back on some “bad habits.” So either Fieldy has a hazy memory of 2020 and 2021, or he’s some sort of time traveler and the last iteration of Korn he actually spoke to was back in 2019. Regardless, it would be great to see Fieldy back out as a member of the band again.
