Black Label Society Prepare Their Sound for the Wasteland with New Track “Lord Humungous”
Who doesn’t love classic 80s flick Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior?! It’s a fuckin’ classic, man. And while pre-shitbag Mel Gibson’s protagonist gets most of the focus from fans, I personally think it’s crazy that we’ve (probably) never had a riff-centric, chugging metal track referencing the most imposing, insanely jacked masked leader of a group of marauders like Lord Humungus.
Well, that’s until today with the release of Black Label Society‘s new track and accompanying music video “Lord Humungous”. If you’ve ever listened to BLS, you pretty much know what you’re gonna get — thick riffs, soaring solos, and in the case of this one, a pretty unserious music video.
This bad boy was released on its own, though we know the band’s been working on a new album that’s supposed to be coming out either this year or in 2026. Naturally things have been a bit slow rolling, given the fact that Zakk Wylde’s been busy touring the world with the Pantera tribute group.
So yeah man, hit play and jam out on the track and video below. It’s damn good.
