Sick of It All’s Lou Koller Undergoes Last Round of Chemotherapy
We’ve been following Sick of It All frontman Lou Koller’s cancer treatment since his diagnosis back in June of esophageal cancer that he said had spread into his stomach. He started chemotherapy soon after his initial diagnosis, announced his final round of chemo before surgery in September, and headed into surgery in October. Just yesterday, Koller announced on Instagram that he was undergoing his last round of chemo, so hopefully that means that everything is going well.
In a video on Instagram (that was transcribed by Blabbermouth), Koller said:
“Last day of chemo. This is it. Thanks for all your support. I’m doing pretty good. Gonna deal with this stuff, be sick for about a week and a half, and then start the healing. Gotta get my voice and body back in shape. Thanks, everybody. See ya.”
Then, in the caption next to the video, he wrote:
“Last day of chemo!!! After today I’ll have to deal with being ill for about a week and a half. Don’t know when the numbness in my fingers and feet will go away. It’s different for everyone. Same for my tastebuds. Don’t know when I’ll be able to taste food normally again. Right now I kind of taste what I’m eating but it’s over powered by a chemical/metallic taste. But it will all be just a memory soon. Thanks again for your support!”
So all of that sounds positive at least, so we hope that to mean that Koller is doing a lot better. The GoFundMe for Koller’s medical expenses is still accepting donations, by the way, even as it’s exceeded its goal by a lot. Still, medical care is expensive in this stupid country, so donate if you can.
As always, everyone at MetalSucks is pulling for Lou Koller. Fuck cancer!
