Iron Lung Announce First New Album in 12 Years, New Single and Tour Dates Released
A total blitz of new DIY/hardcore punk is coming down the pipe from Nevada’s own Iron Lung after more than a decade of radio silence. That’s because on April 18, they’ll be dropping their new album Adapting // Crawling from their own record imprint Iron Lung Records.
Comprised of Jensen Ward on drums/vocals and Jon Kortland on guitar/vocals, this duo’s been known for a long time for putting out punishing, in your face punk — which is exactly what you get in the single they released today, “Lifeless Life.” Like most punk, the song is less than a minute long — but what it lacks in length it sure as hell makes up in piss and vinegar.
According to the band, the album as a whole deals with some rough themes, including: “depression, a failed healthcare system, heavy grief from multiple friends/family deaths, paranoia and distrust of government, meaningless existence and loss.” You know —the sort of shit you want to listen to while out on a drive with Gam Gam.
Despite the fact that this is the band’s first full-length offering since 2013, the band has put out the occasional EP here and there. Furthermore, the band has a buncha tour dates lined up. You can find the full list of dates below.
