Poppy Reveals Opening Acts for Her Upcoming Tour, Covers Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste”
There’s been a lot of Poppy talk lately and she hilariously didn’t even need to be present for any of it (though she’s definitely capitalizing on it). And while I’m not going to continue beating that particular dead horse into dust, now’s the perfect time for the mind behind last year’s incredible album Negative Spaces to reveal the acts that will be opening up her forthcoming ‘They’re All Around Us’ North American Tour.
Just yesterday, Poppy posted on her Instagram that House Of Protection, Chinese American Bear and Kumo 99 were going to open for her at various points throughout the tour. Which opener you’ll get will depend heavily on the date you attend, as you’ll see in the listing of dates below.
Set for 28 stops throughout North America, the tour will kick off in San Francisco on March 11 and come to a close on April 23 in Los Angeles. Along the way, Poppy’s tour will make stops in some major cities, including Denver, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Houston. But don’t get your hopes up, Canadian friends — you’re once again relegated to just Toronto and Montreal.
In addition to the tour update, Poppy was featured on triple j’s Like A Version series. In it, she not only performs her own track “crystalized”, but she also covers Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste”. I won’t pretend to know what that song originally sounds like, but her version is pretty catchy. It’s definitely worth checking out both videos posted below.
