Hold Your Nose, Behemoth Squeezed Out the Title Track of Their New Album ‘The Shit Ov God’
Just moments ago, Polish black/death outfit Behemoth finally made good on that teaser they posted last month, by not only announcing the forthcoming release of their new album The Shit Ov God, but by also releasing the title track for everyone to hear. And I’ll say this about the song…if you’re a fan of Behemoth’s more recent releases — think 2022’s Opvs Contra Natvram or 2018’s I Loved You At Your Darkest— you’ll enjoy this.

Set to release on May 9 via Nuclear Blast Records, this will be the band’s 13th full-length album. Continuing their anti-religion focus that’s been going on for the last three decades, frontman and founder Nergal said he opted to hit the listener with the title The Shit Ov God to be as shocking as possible.
“We chose this provocative title deliberately, rejecting subtlety in favor of a direct and polarizing statement. It’s a defiant plunge into the depths, daring to seek the absolute even in the gutter.”
As for the other aspects of today’s release, the music video and album cover art, Nergal said both of those things were purposely done to contradict things like the Christogram “IHS”.
“I’ve reached a point in Behemoth’s journey and my own creativity where words and statements mean less and less. The true essence of who we are and what we stand for lies in our music, our art, our visuals, our sounds, our performances, and the ways we connect with you. I deeply believe Behemoth represents transcendent, timeless art.
“The number thirteen—so magical and significant. If this were to be our final album, I could say I die a proud man. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the most refined, purest representation of Behemoth. No filler, no excess — just the very best we have to offer, handed to you.
