Tommy Lee Calls Out Artists for Promoting Amid L.A. Fires, Forgets Mötley Crüe Did the Same
Tommy Lee’s unshowered ass might want to get off his high horse, because in a recent post on his Instagram, he called out other artists for posting on social media and promoting their shit while Los Angeles continues to burn.
“Makes me fucking sick to see most people just caring on a posting on lame ass social media! Guys right now nobody gives a flying fuck when your record drops or the next concert is when so many people are in the middle of one of the biggest disasters of all time!
“I get that some comic relief is always needed, but Jesus Christ leave it all alone and maybe just stop and see who needs help if you can.”
And like our friends over in Metal Injection pointed out, that would have been a fine (if not a little heavy handed) point to make had it not been for the fact that Mötley Crüe literally promoted their Las Vegas residency yesterday. You can check those out in the images below.
Now, I don’t want to diminish what’s going on in Los Angeles because let’s be real — it’s fucking horrific. Two dozen people have been killed in the fires, more than 60 square miles have been decimated by the blaze, thousands of structures have been destroyed, and countless people have been displaced.
But if artists had to stop doing all kinds of promotion or stop worrying about their livelihoods the moment something tragically horrific happens, then nothing would get done. I don’t know if you’ve seen, but the world’s a fucking dumpster fire out there, so the bad shit’s only going to keep happening. So does that mean the music industry should just grind to a halt until everything’s good?
Or does this only matter because sadly this tragedy affects Lee and the people around him?
The Official Website of the City of Los Angeles has set up a resource center for anyone in the area, or for anyone who wants to help out residents of the city who are suffering. That resource center can be found here.
