Three Jane’s Addiction Members are Apparently Working on New Music Together
I’m really bored with recapping what happened with Jane’s Addiction a few months back so, if for some reason you’ve spent the last year in a cave or something and still don’t know what happened, I’m giving you the shortest explanation I can think of:
Punch. Whiff. Bye-bye.
There, that’s all you get. You should know the whole story by now and if you don’t you can look up our original story on it here. Now can we move on to what happened recently? Because, apparently, at least three people from Jane’s Addiction seem to be back together and making music again, and one person’s name is conspicuously absent from the lineup.
On his official Instagram, former Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery posted footage of him playing bass in what appears to be a home studio, with the follow caption:
“Writing some more new lines to some of Stephens drumming. Look forward to getting some Mr Navarro on them. 2025! @stephenperkinsdrummer @davenavarro”
This whole post just feels like it’s very conspicuously trying to not say the name we’re all thinking about, which is Perry Farrell. The other three members of Jane’s Addiction are all mentioned here, and Avery stopped just short of putting a sign up on the clubhouse that says “No Perrys Allowed.”
Admittedly, this is a very vague update. We don’t know who else, if anyone else, may be involved. Are they working with a new vocalist? Is it an instrumental project? Will they have any other musicians involved? How much did Perry cry when he read about it? There are a lot of questions that remain to be answered, and I’m sure some of them will be coming in soon.
