Cemetery Skyline Release Live Acoustic Version of “The Coldest Heart”
Months after the release of their debut album Nordic Gothic, gothic metal supergroup Cemetery Skyline have opted to thank their fans for all their support by releasing a special semi-acoustic performance of their song “The Coldest Heart”. Filmed this past October when they were last in New York City, the video features a particularly intimate performance.
For those that don’t know, Cemetery Skyline is comprised of Dark Tranquility vocalist Mikael Stanne, Insomnium guitarist Markus Vanhala, Amorphis keyboardist Santeri Kallio, Dimmu Borgir bassist Victor Brandt, and Sentenced drummer Vesa Ranta.
Speaking of the video below, Vanhala reminisced about the band’s stay in The Big Apple and the band’s apparently impromptu decision to film and record this acoustic performance.
“We went all the way to New York City to celebrate the release of our album, Nordic Gothic, and besides all the partying at Duff’s we played a special secret show and did it the old school 90’s MTV Unplugged trio way. So here’s one result of that night, ‘The Coldest Heart’, in its most gentle and stripped down acoustic way. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed this special moment.”
If you dig what you heard, or you’re a fan of any of the guys’ work in other bands, you can check out the video below or listen to Nordic Gothic wherever you get your music these days.
