Dad Bods and Wine Moms Rejoice: Creed’s ‘Summer of ’99 Tour’ Gets 23 More Dates
Now, I’m not saying you have to be a middle aged white guy or over-tanned White Claw drinking Karen to enjoy the recent revitalization of Creed, but I imagine it certainly helps. That’s why when they announced the continuation of the ‘Summer of ’99 Tour’ into next summer, I knew exactly who to address with this one.
Featuring 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Big Wreck and Mammoth WVH as a rotating group of supporting acts, this newly announced leg of Creed shows will hit 23 different cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. The whole shebang will kick off on July 9 in Lexington, Kentucky and will come to a close on August 20 in Calgary, Alberta.
To say the previous run of Creed dates were successful might be a gross understatement, mind you. They sold out 60 concerts throughout North America, resulting in over 800,000 tickets sold. Not bad at all for a band maligned as cringey butt rock for years after (and during) their initial time in the spotlight.
Speaking of the band’s success, vocalist Scott Stapp said he was thankful to see so much support after all these years.
“Thirty years in, it’s been a blessing to pick up right where we left off with longtime fans and to meet the next generation for the first time. It’s been an incredible ride, and we aren’t done, so here’s to a ‘Summer’ that never ends. We’ll see you on the road.”
Tickets will go on sale for the general public this Friday at 10 a.m. local time, while pre-sales will start tomorrow at the same time. You can register for pre-sale access right now. And as is expected, there are a buncha VIP offerings up for grabs, so be sure to get yours if that’s your jam.
