Surrounded By Monsters Vocalist Michael Batson Has Passed Away

In a bit of sad news coming out to the deathcore scene, friends and family of Surrounded By Monsters vocalist Michael Batson announced that he passed away last week. Though details are sparse at this moment as to what caused his sudden passing, people have stepped up to create a GoFundMe to help Batson’s surviving family get through such a difficult time.

According to a source that wished to remain anonymous, Batson had succumbed to his battle with mental health issues. As a result of his passing, his wife Traci (who plays keyboards in Surrounded By Monsters) is now facing life all on her own.

The statement announcing Batson’s passing reads as follows:

“As many of you may know, the world lost Mike unexpectedly last week. Traci lost the love of her life and her world has fallen apart. Life has challenged her more than most can know, except now her partner in life isn’t by her side to take it on with her. Let’s come together and show her that she is still not alone. Together, we can help lessen her burden so that she may finally take time to grieve.”

At this time, they’re seeking to raise $10,000 to help cover costs associated with Batson’s passing and to help Traci stay afloat.
