AC/DC Finally Announce Their North American ‘Power Up’ Stadium Tour

0

After weeks of will they, won’t they shenanigans and leaks surrounding a potential North American tour, legendary rock outfit AC/DC have finally announced a baker’s dozen of live dates set for next year. Dubbed the ‘Power Up Tour’, the run will include stops at 13 stadiums across North America, with this marking their first full-fledged tour in the U.S. in nine years.

Kicking off in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 10 and coming to a close in Cleveland, Ohio on May 28, the run of dates will see AC/DC hit some pretty huge stadiums along the way. Oh and they managed to make it a North American tour by including a single Canadian date — April 22 in Vancouver.

Eagle-eyed AC/DC fans will note that the tour shares a name with the band’s 2020 album Power Up, which makes sense when you think about it. That record came out in November 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when shut downs forced the entire music industry to nix live performances for a long time.

That being said, this isn’t really the first U.S. performances in almost a decade, since they did play one-off shows like last year’s Power Trip gig.

As it stands right now, AC/DC is comprised of Angus Young on lead guitar, vocalist Brian Johnson, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug and bass player Chris Chaney.

You can find the full list of tour dates below. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 12 p.m. local time on December 6.
