Saxon Announces UK and Ireland Leg of Hell, Fire and Steel Tour with Dirkschneider
Great news for anyone in the UK and Ireland who’s really into watching people who are almost old enough to be in a nursing home playing heavy metal, because legendary NWOBHM band Saxon announced the UK and Ireland leg of their Hell, Fire and Steel Tour and they’re bringing Dirkschneider along with them.
Saxon previously announced a string of EU tour dates for the same tour in February and March of 2025. The new string of dates sees them hitting up Ireland and the UK in November 2025 and, like the European dates, they promise to play their entire 1980 record Wheels of Steel to celebrate its 45th anniversary as well as all the best songs off their new album Hell, Fire and Damnation album that came out at the beginning of this year. I don’t understand what this band has against the Oxford comma, geesh.
Meanwhile Dirkschneider, which contains former members of iconic German heavy metal band Accept, will be performing Accept’s 1983 album Balls to the Wall in its entirety to celebrate the album’s 40th anniversary…um, two years late. Better late than never, I guess.
In a statement released on social media, Saxon’s Biff Byford said about the tour:
“We first toured with UDO and Accept in the U.S.A on our Crusader tour and have done lots of stuff together since, but we have never toured the UK together so this is gonna be epic. Balls to the Wall and Wheels of Steel under the same roof… it’ going to be something really special to witness. Bring it on!”
