Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne Support Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting

0

Heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon really want to see trophy hunting banned in their home country of the U.K. And they’re adding their support by selling an exclusive t-shirt designed by the “Prince of Darkness” himself, some of which he’s even autographing to raise money for the campaign..

In a recent announcement on social media, the pair announced that they joined The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, an advocacy group in the United Kingdom started by former League Against Cruel Sports CEO Eduardo Goncalves, explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE, former WWF International Director Jean-Paul Jeanrenaud, and animal advocate Peter Egan. The campaign has a lot of other big-name British celebrities including Ricky Gervais, Dame Judi Dench, and Joanna Lumley.

In a statement to promote the campaign that was reported on by Blabbermouth, Osbourne said:

“Trophy hunters are totally crazy. You’ve got to be barking to kill an innocent animal and then take photos of yourself laughing about it.

“We’ve all got to do our bit. I like to design things, so I’ve done a t-shirt for the campaign to ban trophy hunting.

“The government said it would ban hunting trophies, so get on with it! Tell your MP you want it banned right now!

“Get yourself an Ozzy t-shirt for Christmas and help save the animals!”

Yeah, what kind of sick fuck would ever kill an innocent animal and then take photos of themselves laughing about it. Oh, wait…

Yeah, it’s kind of ironic that the man now speaking out about hunters killing innocent animals for no good reason is the man who has not one, but two infamous stories about him spontaneously biting the heads off of animals for shock value. Granted, the dove biting incident happened when he was very young and, more than likely, on drugs. The bat biting incident came about by accident because he thought the bat was made of rubber. Who throws a live bat at a stage anyway? But the irony is still rich in this situation.

Rather than try to gloss over it, though, the campaign is leaning into it, with the campaign’s Facebook profile posting an article with the headline “Bat-eater Ozzy backs hunting ban.” I guess we all mellow in our old age.
