Scott Ian Has an Action Figure Coming Out to Remind You He Once Had Hair and a Razor

When it comes to larger than life characters that get immortalized in plastic as an action figure, most people tend to envision pro wrestlers, sports superstars, and comic book heroes/villains. Nerdy thrash metal guitarists from influential thrash metal bands? Not so much. Yet thanks to another collaboration with NECA Toys, Anthrax axeman Scott Ian is getting his second action figure and this time around, it’s a manufactured trip down memory lane.

Unveiled earlier today by the man himself, the action figure in question stands eight inches tall with a fuck ton of articulation in the joints. It features Scott Ian as he looked back in 1987. That means long hair, no goatee, and shorts that might not fly in 2024. The figure comes with two heads for the two different included hair styles, a hand throwing up the horns, and a second guitar emblazoned with the Yankees logo.

It should be noted that this is the Among the Living-era Scott Ian. That was one hell of a time for the band and such an iconic album. According to Ian, these figures are limited edition and about 20 of them have Among the Living graphics on one of the included guitars.

As mentioned before, this isn’t the first time NECA has worked with Ian to get an action figure made of the man. Back in 2019, a more modern version of Scott Ian was immortalized in action figure form. Of the two, I gotta say — this new one looks pretty fuckin’ boss.
