Maynard James Keenan’s Favorite Actual Tool is Apparently a Nail Gun
In the wake of America making one of the dumbest decisions in the history of a country already built on dumb decisions, I feel like everyone’s been too fucking depressed to really come up with any interesting news. So here I am writing about Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan’s favorite actual tool. It’s a fucking nail gun, if you even fucking care about anything at this point.
In a recent episode of comedian/actor Bert Kreischer‘s Bertcast (which was reported on by The PRP), Keenan was the guest and Kreischer asked him a question on behalf of his college-age daughter Ila who he said was a huge fan of Keenan’s work: what’s your favorite tool. Keenan answered:
“A battery-operated pneumatic nail gun.”
He then elaborated by saying:
“I remember when it was like a cannister and it would clog up, and get all fucked up. The newer ones had like… you can charge the battery and [mimics nail gun sounds.] You can get some shit done.”
Kreischer agreed, chiming in with:
“You can build a house so much quicker.”
To which Keenan responded:
“So, does that answer your fucking question?”
During the interview, Keenan also revealed his next business ventures would involve forays into gin and chocolate, presumably not together. Keenan said that he had been working on a gin project and has a patented recipe and distillery set up for a coming product, and that his recent foray into coffee inspired him to learn more about chocolate, which he feels pairs well with his wine business. Overall, it’s a fascinating and hilarious interview that you should watch the entirety of, so check out the whole thing below.
