Old Man’s Child, Blackbraid, and More Added to Fire In The Mountains Festival

0

Next year’s Fire In The Mountains Festival is shaping up to be something incredibly special next year, as organizers announced the second wave of bands slated to play the event. And while that sort of news is generally exciting, the folks behind next year’s festival landed a surprising addition in the form of legendary Norwegian black metal outfit Old Man’s Child.

For those that aren’t aware, Old Man’s Child is the melodic black metal brainchild of Dimmu Borgir guitarist Galder (Tom Rune Andersen). Founded in 1993, the band’s never made its way to this part of the world — but that’s all changing when Fire In The Mountains takes over the Red Eagle Campground in northwestern Montana next July.

In light of the announcement, Galder said he was excited to bring Old Man’s Child to North America.

“Old Man’s Child is thrilled to announce its first-ever concert in the United States, set in the stunning surroundings of Fire in the Mountains. Join us for a memorable experience in the mountains—we look forward to seeing you there.”

And while the inclusion of Old Man’s Child is exciting, that’s not all the organizers had to reveal, as Blackbraid, singer-songwriter and poet Emma Ruth Rundle, death/doom band Tzompantli, and black sludge outfit Witching were all confirmed as well.

As previously reported, it’s important to note that since the festival is taking place on Blackfeet Nation land, the festival is a completely dry event. That means no booze, drugs, or any other intoxicants. All the festival will be is a long weekend out in the wilderness, enjoying nature, and subjecting yourself to crushing metal mayhem.

So with today’s additions, the lineup is as follows. Remember, there’s more announcements coming soon.

  • WARDRUNA
  • OLD MAN’S CHILD (First U.S. Exclusive)
  • BLOOD INCANTATION
  • BLACKBRAID
  • EMMA RUTH RUNDLE
  • HEXVESSEL
  • STEVE VON TILL
  • PAN-AMERIKAN NATIVE FRONT
  • TZOMPANTLI
  • MAJESTIES (LIVE DEBUT)
  • WITCHING
