Cradle of Filth Drop New Single “Malignant Perfection” Ahead of U.K./European Tour
There’s been so much talk about new Cradle of Filth music for a long ass time now. We’ve all heard the stories about there being a song featuring pop sensation Ed Sheeran, but I’m sad to report that “Malignant Perfection,” the new track released this morning by the British gothic metal outfit isn’t that song.
Instead, this newly released track continues on the band’s spoopy, dark themes. Released just days before Halloween, “Malignant Perfection” feels like a perfectly timed drop. That being said, the band said the new song was released to get people hyped for the upcoming U.K. and European tour.
As for the track itself, frontman Dani Filth said the track and its accompanying music video is a direct reference to the upcoming spooky holiday and autumn as a whole.
“Our new single and video, ‘Malignant Perfection’, is our horrific homage to All Hallows Eve, as embodied by the female deification of evil. It is a perfect musical accompaniment to the spirit of the witching season; invoking dark, Autumnal splendour and celebrating the time when the thin line between life and death is at its most tenuous and the denizens of the otherworld seek to break the veil into ours.
“The video, directed by the imitable Vicente Cordero and featuring the creative masterstrokes of one Missy Munster, is a playground of seductive darkness rife with malicious monsters and cryptid creations, all vying voraciously for the viewer’s eternal soul.
“This comes at a perfect juncture for the Halloween period and our ‘By Order Of The Dragon’ UK/European Autumn tour. It also arrives on the back of a sensational collaboration with massive fashion label Vetement and also Blackcraft Clothing, and in the fiery wake of a successful sold-out Australian tour.”
While we continue to wait for Cradle of Filth’s 14th full-length studio effort and their debut on Napalm Records, at least we have this new track to get hyped for what’s to come.
