Harakiri For The Sky Announce New Album Scorched Earth, Single “With Autumn I’ll Surrender” Streaming Now
Finnish melodoom band Harakiri For The Sky is back with a new album coming at the start of the new year, as Scorched Earth is slated to be released on January 24 via AOP Records. For those familiar with the duo’s penchant for loss, love (requited or not), and general existentialist themes, it sounds like we’re getting another dose of that. At least, what’s what I would make sense given the nature of the forthcoming album’s first single, “With Autumn I’ll Surrender.”
According to the band, Scorched Earth is “a snapshot of the world we are living in, a world that’s tragically broken.” So yeah, sounds like it’s all sunshine and rainbows and not the gross impending doom I think many of us feel in the pit of our stomachs as certain major worldly events get closer…
Comprised of multi-instrumentalist M.S. and vocalist J.J., the twosome said they feel like now’s the perfect time to drop their follow-up to 2021’s Maere.
“With ‘With Autumn I’ll Surrender’ we’re finally releasing the first single of our upcoming album Scorched Earth.
“For this purpose, we chose a song that combines the HFTS typical Post Black Metal energy with riffs that hail from the glorious times of the Grunge and Indie Rock era. A first hint where this album and its songs are leading us…”
