Coheed and Cambria Announce Dates and First Wave of Bands for Their Own Rock Cruise
These music cruises are all the rage right now, aren’t they? They combine all the joy of a music festival with exorbitantly high prices and an increased risk of getting caught in a norovirus outbreak in a small space. What’s not to love? But when it’s put together by proggy post-hardcore heroes Coheed and Cambria, it’s almost worth gambling on a gastrointestinal nightmare.
Coheed and Cambria announced the third voyage of their personal cruise ship the S.S. Neverender. Oh, and they named the cruise after one of their most pretentious album titles. The “Good Apollo, We’re Boating to Cozumel: MMXXV” cruise expands to five days this year, embarking on November 8, 2025 from Miami, Florida and setting sail for Cozumel, Mexico, then returning on November 13.
The band announced the first wave of bands on the cruise, promising more to come, with the first wave including the likes of Thursday, L.S. Dunes, The Dear Hunter, Meet Me @ The Altar, The Fall of Troy, Pool Kids, Zulu, and The Callous Daoboys, offering up an interesting combination of post-hardcore, pop-punk, emo, and hardcore.
The website for the cruise promises two very different sets from Coheed and Cambria, one on the pool deck and a second in a more intimate setting in the Stardust Theater, as well as the return of the band’s live Q&A session. There’s even vague hints at some sort of immersive experience surrounding Coheed frontman Claudio Sanchez’s sci-fi graphic novels The Armory Wars as well as an event called the Armory High Prom.
Presale registration is going on now through the 23rd, with alumni of past cruises seeming to get some preferential treatment in the presale, and every cabin booked during the pre-sale gets a photo taken with Coheed and Cambria on the cruise itself.
