Crossfade Announce Reunion With First Two Shows Since 2012

0

South Carolina alt-metal band Crossfade technically never broke up, something they popped up on social media to remind us of from time to time over the years, but they haven’t played a live show since 2012. Well, whether or not to you count that period of inactivity as a true hiatus (it was), the wait is over now with Crossfade announcing their first two reunion shows in 13 years, both of them at festivals and both of them in Ohio for 2025. The two reunion shows will be at Sonic Temple and Inkcarceration.

So far, the reunion is confirmed to involve founding members Ed Sloan (vocals and guitars) and Mitch James (bass), plus their guitarist and keyboardist Les Hall who was not a founding member, joining the band in 2006. Rock Feed announced the band’s return with a 27-minute-long exclusive documentary about the band’s history and their upcoming reunion.

Writing on their Instagram account, Sonic Temple had this to say about the reunion announcement:

“Reuniting for their very first performance in 13 years, we are proud to add to our Historic Rock & Metal Lineup by welcoming multi-platinum band CROSSFADE onto the [Sonic Temple] Lineup! The post-grunge rockers burst onto the scene in the early 2000s, making an unforgettable impact with their debut single ‘Cold.’ Their follow-up hits like ‘Colors’ and ‘So Far Away’ further cemented their place in the rock world, earning them radio success across multiple formats. Despite their long absence, Crossfade’s music has had remarkable staying power, with listenership only continuing to grow across the globe. For years, rock fans have been asking us to make this reunion happen. We are so grateful to the band for coming together with us to finally make this a special reality in 2025!”

Then writing on their Instagram, Inkcarceration had this to say:

“We are beyond thrilled to bring another special reunion to life that rock fans have been waiting over a decade to see… CROSSFADE, the multi-platinum powerhouse that defined a generation of post-grunge, is reuniting after 13 years to play [Inkcarceration] 2025!

“From the unforgettable chills of their breakout hit ‘Cold,’ to the anthemic energy of ‘Colors’ and ‘So Far Away,’ Crossfade left an indelible mark on rock history. Their sound dominated the airwaves, and its staying power has continued to create new fans to this day. For years, the demand for their reunion has been palpable and only grown larger with each passing year.

“Crossfade joins the recently reunited @threedaysgraceofficial, as your first two acts on the Ink 2025 lineup! This is not just another festival – it’s rock history in the making when you experience [Inkcarceration Festival] 2025.”

Sonic Temple will be held May 8-11, 2025 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio and Inkcarceration will be held July 18-20 at Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio.
