Thy Art is Murder Release Documentary of Their Recent European Run Called Summer Movie 2024

Australian deathcore titans Thy Art is Murder surprise dropped a short documentary this weekend called Summer Movie 2024, detailing their recent European tour this past summer to support their 2023 album Godlike. With a runtime of only 22 minutes and 50 seconds, it doesn’t quite qualify as a feature-length documentary, but then again, if Thy Art is Murder wanted to make things unnecessarily long they would have gone into doom metal instead of deathcore.

Describing the documentary on YouTube, the band wrote:

“In this exclusive summer documentary, we take you behind the scenes as we crush stages across Europe during one of our most brutal summer tours to date. From relentless circle pits to quiet moments backstage, witness the intensity, passion, and chaos that goes into every performance.

“Don’t miss out on exclusive live footage, epic road stories, and an inside look at the bond that keeps this powerhouse pushing the limits of death metal. This is a summer you’ll never forget.”

Thy Art is Murder’s summer tour through Europe saw the band hit up a lot of big name festivals in Europe including Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring in Germany, Copenhell in Copenhagen, and Barcelona Rock Fest in Spain. The tour also featured a series of headlining shows in Ireland, France, Italy, Slovenia, and Hungary with support from Dying Fetus, Fit for a King, Alpha Wolf, Sanguisugabogg, Knosis, and more.

With that many shows to cover, it might even be possible to see a sequel to this documentary coming out sometime soon after. In the meantime, check out Summer Movie 2024 on Thy Art is Murder’s YouTube channel.
