Sylosis Release Surprise EP The Path, Title Track Featuring Heriot’s Debbie Gough Out Now
British deathcore outfit Sylosis are back with new music and this time, it’s in the form of an entirely surprise EP titled The Path. Available today, the five-song package includes a title track featuring Heriot‘s Debbie Gough. Speaking of, there’s a music video out right now for said title track that you can watch below.
This is the first new release from Sylosis since their 2023 release A Sign of Things to Come. Vocalist Josh Middleton said today’s release marked a special moment for the band, as it allows them to put some of the tunes that ended up on the cutting room floor during those sessions out into the world.
“When we were working on ASOTTC we amassed a lot of material. It was a very creative period and the songs that didn’t make it onto ASOTTC were by no means below standard – far from it! We’re extremely excited to share with you The Path EP. Some of our best material to date! We hope you enjoy it”
As for the band’s latest single with Gough, Middelton said “The Path” was a personal take on his love for heavy music in general.
“The Path is about my love and obsession for heavy music. It’s all I need. It’s never been a phase or something I’ll grow out of. I’m immersed in this culture and more than anything, I am still a rabid fan! I think previously writing a song about this kind of thing would have been a no-go for me. Maybe it could be perceived as corny or ‘out of character’ compared to some of the band’s previous lyrics but this feels like a very important song to me.”
