Elder to Play the Entirety of Lore During 2025 European Tour

0

Back in 2015, progressive doom metal band Elder released Lore, the simply killer record that many consider the release that really cemented the band’s sound. Next year, the band themselves are going to recognize that little fact by playing the album in full during their newly announced European run of dates.

Set to take place next May, the tour will start in Hamburg, Germany on May 8 and come to a close on May 25 in Berlin. In between, they’ll make stops in: Oslo, Norway; Stockholm, Sweden; and Lyon, France, among other locales. The tour will also include appearances at various festivals throughout the continent.

In their announcement, Elder said they felt playing the entirety of that album live was the appropriate thing to do, given its importance to the band.

Lore is turning 10 years old. This album marked a point of departure for Elder upon a path which the band is still walking now. For us, this is the record where the band came into its own as a unique voice in the heavy rock underground.

“As we approach our second decade as a band, we feel it’s appropriate to look back on this landmark for us and acknowledge it properly, which is why we’re doing a tour performing the entire album along with some other tracks from our earlier catalogue; we’ll give this era of the band a proper celebration before turning our attention once again toward the future and the next album, currently being written. We’ll also be doing a run in North America, which will be announced shortly as well.”

That last sentence is particularly exciting, as I know I would love to see Elder lay down the entirety of Lore on stage. You can find the dates below.
