Warped Tour Returning in Some Capacity in 2025

0

It’s time to break out your old Vans sneakers, because Warped Tour is returning for 2025. After a lot of speculation over the past week following reports from Rock Feed that the popular festival would be coming back next year, those reports were finally confirmed yesterday when Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman told Pollstar:

“We have something cooking for 2025. Details should be ready in a few weeks.”

While Warped Tour was known for being a punk festival, and its final few years saw it become a primarily pop-punk festival, the early years of the fest were a lot more eclectic, featuring hip-hop artists, pop artists, and even some of the metal, hardcore, and post-hardcore acts we cover here at MetalSucks including Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Eighteen Visions, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Devil Wears Prada, Deftones, Sick of It All, Evergreen Terrace, and a lot more.

In 2019, for the tour’s 25th anniversary, Warped Tour put on events in a three select cities: Cleveland, Atlantic City, and Mountain View, California. It’s possible that, whatever Lyman is planning for 2025, it might not look like the tour did at its pinnacle and might look more like the 2019 edition, focusing on a few select shows in specific cities.

Even if the tour returns to be a full-on tour, hitting up every major market in North America, there’s also still a chance that it will remain what it was in its final years, a punk festival with such a focus on pop-punk that even punks couldn’t recognize most of the bands on the lineup. But there remains a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, this relaunch will mean a return to what Warped Tour once was.
