Metallica to Revisit Their M72 World Tour Next Year with North American Run

0

Say what you will about Metallica, but when they’re not working on a new album or various members are busy starring in a Western thriller, they’re more often than not on the road. Earlier today, the band announced that they’ll once again be hitting the ol’ dusty trail with yet another leg of their ‘M72 World Tour’.

You may recall that the tour saw Metallica playing two shows in the same city with each night featuring different opening acts and a completely different setlist called their “No Repeat Weekends”. That same setup will happen again with this new run of 21 dates that will run from April 12 in Las Vegas until the tour runs its course on June 29 in Denver.

That being said, there will be some special one night only engagements mixed within the tour, including stops in two college football stadiums: JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York and Blacksburg, Virginia, to play Lane Stadium to commemorate that school’s football team using “Enter Sandman” for the last 20 years.

The tour will also include festival headlining engagements at the opening night of next year’s Sick New World in April and two headline sets at Sonic Temple.

Like last time, each stop will feature different supporting act and this time around will be no different, though the bands involved will be Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies, and Ice Nine Kills.

Tickets will be available to the general public next Friday, September 27 at 10 a.m. local time, though there will be a number of opportunities for pre-sales starting September 23 at 10 a.m.

You can find the full list of tour dates below.
