Exclusive Premiere: Coffin Rot’s Dreams Of The Disturbed Exudes Potent Death Metal Brutality
As metal fans, we’re all pretty spoiled these days. There are so many killer bands out there carving out their place in the world. One such band that pretty much everyone needs to pay attention to is the mighty Coffin Rot, whose sophomore full-length album Dreams Of The Disturbed will be unleashed upon the unsuspecting masses this Friday.
But you don’t have to wait that long to hear the unfettered brutality that’s lying in wait in this record. That’s because we at MetalSucks teamed up with the Portland, Oregon-based badasses to stream the entire album days before its release. And as you’ll hear in tracks like “Lurking in the Cemetery” and “Living Cremation”, they’re not fucking around.
Speaking of the new album, vocalist Hayden Johnson said the five years between this release and the band’s debut full-length A Monument to the Dead resulted in a final product that pulls absolutely zero punches.
“Today we are proud to present to you what we consider to be our strongest collection of songs to date. When we first began writing this record back in 2022, we knew that we wanted to present something new for the fans that carried where we had left off with A Monument To The Dead but also treaded new territory for the band’s sound and expanded on our growth and talents as individuals musicians and songwriters.
“It took us five years between records, but I think what we have here is our most brutal, technical, and cohesive piece of work to date. This album reflects our love for the old school legacy acts we worship but also showcases our admiration for the new school sounds of the current scene and provides a balanced blend of both eras of death metal.”
Dreams Of The Disturbed will be released this Friday, September 20 via Maggot Stomp, but you can still preorder your copy today.
