Funeral Brings the Melancholy with “Procession of Misery”

0

Who’s ready to feel the sad times? Because Norwegian gothic/doom metal act Funeral are back with a new track titled “Procession of Misery.” You know, in case you don’t know what you’re getting into.

Having been around since the early 90s, Funeral’s long been known for deep, melancholic tunes that reflect the morose grayness of winter. Described by the band as a dirge, the single moves at a steady pace, reflecting more of a funeral march than a heavy metal song. Of course, Eirik Krokfjord’s vocals are the most haunting part of the song, with his baritone/bass delivery really driving forward the weightiness of the track.

“Procession of Misery” is the latest single off the band’s forthcoming album Gospel of Bones, which will be released on October 18 via Season of Mist. You can preorder and/or pre-save your copy today.
