Queens of the Stone Age Cancel European Shows as Josh Homme to Undergo Emergency Surgery

0

A very real and scary situation is causing Queens of the Stone Age to cancel all of their planned European festival dates this month. According to a statement from the band, frontman Josh Homme was taken back to the U.S. to undergo what was described as “emergency surgery.”

The band was supposed to start their festival run at the Jardin Sonore Festival tomorrow, but that date, as well as every date scheduled until July 27 at the Athens Rocks festival, was axed. At this time, we’re unsure if that also includes the band’s planned show in the Paris catacombs, but I’m willing to go out on a limb and say that’s also been kiboshed.

The following statement was provided by the band:

“QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.

“Ticket holders for festivals, please visit the specific festival website for updated information. Ticket holders for headline shows will be contacted directly from the point of purchase with further information.”

We at MetalSucks want to wish Homme the best and hope he gets well soon. Sudden health scares are terrifying, so here’s hoping the procedure is a success and he can get back on stage soon.
