The Undertaking! Release Single and Video for “And the Silver Surfer”
Are you missing your fix of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now that they’re down to only two movies a year? Probably not, and the new video from San Diego, California-based metalcore act The Undertaking! probably won’t scratch your itch if you are. The Silver Surfer doesn’t even appear in the video! What a rip off!
The band released the new single yesterday and the single absolutely rips. Here’s what the band had to say about the new track on their Instagram:
“This is maybe the most important release we’ve ever had in terms of what it means for the band. this song is the most confident we’ve ever approached a song but it’s also important for our future. we need you to tell your friends about it, post it, share it, add it to playlists. all the things! let’s goooooooooo! preparation for galactus begins now.”
Hopefully, this time around, Galactus isn’t just a cloud.
In a statement reported on by Lambgoat, vocalist Austin Visser explained the meaning behind the song:
“There’s a feeling of hopelessness when you’re trying to fall asleep and can’t make it happen. Your mind meanders through mistakes you made and things you need to do tomorrow. We let our imagination go wild on this song, playing with multiversal themes and the brutal truth that people don’t really care about your dreams.”
