Protest The Hero’s Volition is 10 Years Old and They’re Going on Tour to Celebrate

0

Ten years ago, very different things were popular. Vine was still the video platform of choice, people were doing the Harlem Shake, and Protest the Hero released their super popular album Volition. Of those things, it’s the last item that’s getting particularly noted these days, as the Canadian prog metal band announced they’ll be touring in celebration of that major milestone.

Set to take place over two legs, Protest the Hero will kick off things on August 1 in Detroit and end the first leg at Cleveland, Ohio. The second leg will start on October 11 in Buffalo, New York and come to a close in London, Ontario. Supporting acts for the first leg will be ’68 and Greyhaven while the second leg’s support will be ’68 and Kaonashi.

The band put out a statement about the tour and album’s milestone achievement.

“If Volition is ten years old, then that must make us… holy fuck. How are we still touring at this crusty old age? I honestly don’t know, and who can say how much longer we’re going to be able to drag our lifeless-old-skin-sacks around on tour, so you better come see us on this one.

“You’re probably even older than us, you should buy tickets because the next time we come around you’ll probably be dead! You’re so fuckin old! We are happy to head out on this tour to celebrate ten years of a record that was made possible by our fans. Our ancient ass fans.

“Coming with us will be old friends and new, ’68, Greyhaven, and Kaonashi. It’s only three bands each night so your back and knees don’t ache too hard in the morning, you fuckin geezer! Tickets on sale this Friday at 10AM Local. VIP packages will also be available www.protesthehero.ca”
