The Black Dahlia Murder Will Be ‘Doing Something’ Next Thursday (Probably New Music)
A couple weeks ago, The Black Dahlia Murder‘s guitarist Brandon Ellis hinted on social media that we’d all hear what the band’s been up to “sooner than you think.” To say that single statement has been giving me fuel for the last few days would be an understatement, since their last release was 2020’s Verminous.
Well, it’s looking like “sooner than you think” really translates to June 13, 2024, as that was the date shared at the end of a clip posted on the band’s social media pages. As you can see below, the band teased what should be new music by sharing a black and white clip of vocalist Brian Eschbach getting ready in the studio with a little vocal exercise courtesy of Tim Robinson.
To say that there’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to new TBDM would be an understatement. Though there’s no replacing the late and legendary Trevor Strnad, whatever the band’s next album becomes, it will be their first to feature ex-guitarist-turned-vocalist Eschbach. It will also be the first to feature guitarist Ryan Knight since 2015’s Abysmal.
It should also be noted that the new song — if this is what they’re teasing — would be released one day before they’re set to kick off their European tour with select dates featuring Suffocation, Shadow of Intent, and Decapitated. You can find the full list of dates below.
