“Extreme Burnout” Forces Bad Omens to Cancel Summer Touring Plans

Fans of Bad Omens out in Europe and the U.K. are going to be disappointed with this news, but the band has announced that they’re canceling their summer touring commitments due to what vocalist Noah Sebastian describes as “extreme burnout.”

In a tweet posted earlier today, Sebastian said that all of the work put into the band’s latest record The Death of Peace of Mind, as well as all the press and touring that went along with that album cycle finally caught up with him. Rather than let things get worse for his physical, mental, and emotional state, he and the band agreed that stepping back for the summer would be the best course of action.

“I’ve been experiencing what can only be described as extreme burnout.

“While all the touring and work that we’ve put into this album cycle the last several years has been so gratifying and rewarding, it has also pushed me to the limits of my mental bandwidth. Putting my mind and body in conflict with one another in ways that are becoming detrimental to my health on the road.

“That said, after heavy consideration we’ve decided that we need to cancel all of our performances coming up this summer in Europe and the U.K.

“This decision is in the best interest of my health and wellbeing, and of the long term sustainability of bad omens. We need to protect and restore all of the energy that will be demanded of us again soon as we transition into the next chapter.

“We know this will be disappointing, but we ask that you respect our choice to put health first.

As a result of this cancellation, the next time a live audience will get to see Bad Omens perform will be the Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, Missouri on July 20, with the next day being their appearance at Inkcarceration in Mansfield, Ohio.

We’re hoping Sebastian can get back on his feet soon. Burnout’s no joke.
